MIT's city car concept has been in the pipeline for a long time, but until now there's been nothing other than illustrations and half-size models. Now, however, the real thing is here, and it's about to go into testing in Europe.
A company with the descriptive name of ChargeMaster has flipped switches on 150 new electric car charging stations, with plans to get another 300 online every month until some 4000 are dotted about the country by the end of 2012.
And they say electric cars don't go fast. A group of BYU engineering students have built an electric streamliner that peaked at speeds of 175 mph. With that quiet electric motor I'll bet the "whoosh" it makes is gorgeous.
