The constantly leaked Samsung Galaxy S4 Active has just been officially announced by Samsung, which has confirmed its insane level of desirability by telling us it features a 5-inch 1080p display and 1.9GHz quad-core processor inside a fully waterproof case. What's that, like 15 Galaxy devices now? Read More >>
An independent arbiter of how good things are has declared the Samsung Galaxy S4 the best smartphone of them all, with the device dethroning LG's Optimus G in the Consumer Reports mobile rankings. Read More >>

Samsung has issued a slightly vague response to that kicking it took on the BBC's Watchdog last night (above), claiming it's the "innovative and unique features" that hoover up so much of the phone's internal storage space. However, it is looking at, perhaps, optimising things to free up a few more bytes for use. Read More >>

In a move suggesting there's no more serious a crime in today's society than a rich man's new toy not quite working as advertised, the BBC's investigative TV show Watchdog is planning to shame Samsung over that disparity in advertised and real-world storage space. Read More >>

The Samsung Galaxy S smartphones are by far the most popular Android smartphones, and are flagship products for Samsung to show off its latest and greatest OLED display technology. The display on the Galaxy S4 is a major enhancement and improvement over the Galaxy S III — it has a full HD 1920x1080 resolution display with 441ppi. It is also better calibrated, brighter, and bigger. We'll analyse the Galaxy S4 with an in-depth objective series of Lab tests and measurements included below — and size it up next to the competition. Read More >>
Since it arrived last year, the Galaxy S III has been the world's best-selling smartphone that wasn't born in Cupertino. An impressive feat, but one that—along with Samsung's Megatron-sized hype-machine—has made for sky-high expectations for the sequel. Read More >>

There's one thing you can guarantee about the Samsung Galaxy S4: no matter what it's actually like, it'll sell like gold-plated unibody-construction rocking-horse-shit. It's already busted records for pre-registrations (whatever they are), but now it's up for real pre-orders, with money and everything. So the big question is, what's the best place to buy your shiny new S4? Read More >>

When we found out Samsung was making a mini version of the Galaxy S III we got excited... and then we were disappointed because it was so boring. If these leaked photos are true, it looks like we'll be disappointed again because even though the S IV Mini has a svelte body and not ginormous 4.3-inch screen, the S IV Mini will have neutered specs compared to the big brother full size Galaxy S IV. Boo. Read More >>
Excited about the Galaxy S4? Maybe you are, but haven't had a chance to hold it. Or maybe you just haven't seen it lined up against its biggest (smallest?) competitor, the iPhone 5. Here are some high quality renders of the two side by side from our good friend Martin Hajek. Read More >>
The rumours from yesterday seem to be true. In the UK we're getting the 1.9GHz quad-core variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 only, not the octa-core beast, which is probably something to do with it being LTE-enabled. [Recombu] Read More >>

According to an apparent statement from Samsung released to Omio, the only variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 we're going to get is the 1.9GHz quad-core version, packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, not the octa-core beast. Not that that's a bad thing, judging from the benchmarks we saw the other day. [Omio via Cnet] Read More >>

One of the best things about Android is the ability to pretty easily load custom ROMs. Like the hardware but hate what the manufacturers have done to Android? No problem, just root it and flash a custom ROM like CyanogenMod. Unfortunately for prospective Samsung Galaxy S4 buyers, it looks like you're stuck with what Samsung gives you. Read More >>
