We already knew that Google Now violates Siri insofar as it's much better. But according to a new lawsuit filed by Apple a.ka. the Patentmaster in Chief, Google Now violates Apple's intellectual property by being a bit too much like Siri. Read More >>

Now that Google Now's on the iPhone, constantly being helpful in the background, there are rumours flying around that it's nuking phone batteries because it's hammering Location Services. Google says that's not possible, but what are you folks seeing? Read More >>

The addition of Google Now to the iOS App Store has granted iPhone owners access to one of Google's most useful products. But it did something else, too. It made the iPhone a better Android phone than the vast majority of Android phones you can buy. Read More >>

As a fashionable internet denizen, you do not use a homepage, probably. You open a new browser window or tab, and you're met with your Chrome apps, or Safari favourites, or whatever the hell Firefox is doing now. And if you do have one, it's probably a legacy media hub like MSN, AOL or Yahoo, or a search page like Google or Bing. But what if the web found a way for a landing page to be useful again? Google's executive chairman, once CEO, Eric Schmidt, has been talking up a storm at Google's Big Tent Summit in India today. The latest quip was an answer to a direct question about when we can expect Google Now on the iPhone. Apparently we'll "need to discuss that with Apple". That sounds a lot like a Google Now app's stuck in Apple's approval process. Read More >>

I've said time, and time again that the best thing about Android is potentiallyGoogle Now. It's still in its infancy, but is apparently coming to a desktop near you. Now a supposedly leaked video, which was quickly pulled, has ignited rumours that Google's bringing Now to the iPhone. I would be, of course, totally all over this like white on rice, but does anyone else want Google Now for their iPhone? Read More >>

Google Now is probably the best thing about Android -- an automatic and genuinely-useful digital assistant that spits out location and time-based information at a glance -- but now it's coming to your desktop via Chrome. After rumours and hints, Google Now's just popped up in the Chromium backend. It doesn't work for now, but it will, very soon, hopefully. Read More >>

If you're using Chromium on Windows, you can now get a notification centre. The feature's just in the developmental stage right now, but it could lead to some neat creations with Chrome that tie it closer to the Android operating system. Read More >>
Google Now, arguably the best thing about owning an Android phone right now, has just gotten a boost in the war with Apple's Passbook. It'll now search your email for flight confirmations and grab your boarding passes, plus fire flight notifications at you. Currently it only supports certain airlines, but it's expanding rapidly. Awesome. [Google via Android Community] Read More >>

Normally bugs just annoy you by preventing something from working, but occasionally they'll do something totally bizarre. A weird issue with Google's text-to-speech functionality tells you that giraffes are now praising the iPad. Literally. Read More >>
Google Now is awesome. Predicting what you'll want by tracking your every move and search might seem creepy, but in practice it's great. I wish it was on the iPhone too. Thankfully someone's thought of that. Meet Grokr, Google Now, or maybe even better, for the iPhone. Read More >>
Google Now's like a witchcraft-practising virtual butler, hiding in my pocket, putting his wizardry into action to make my life easier. It's awesome, and one of the main reasons to have an Android phone. It's not perfect though, and here's Gizmodo UK's Christmas wish list of powers that the sorcerers at Google HQ should bestow upon Now. Please Santa, I've been a good boy, promise. Read More >>
