It's time for yet another one of Google's aweomeChrome experiments. This one's a Scaletrix-like slot racer. All you need is Chrome on a phone or tablet and you're good to go. Race on a massive track with up to five friends across five different-sized devices. It's a blast. Read More >>

Wearing Google Glass might make you look weird but it's certainly a lot better than any of the prototypes that Google first tried out. Google Project Glass Staff Hardware Engineer Jean Wang showed off a slide revealing the earliest prototypes of Glass and they're a lot bulkier with open ribbons, chips, gigantic cameras and more. You'd look like a total robot wearing these. Read More >>

Larry Page, Google's CEO and co-founder, closed out the Google I/O keynote last night with a sentimental, almost subdued speech. He didn't sound like a CEO. He sounded like a guy in charge of a company he genuinely thought could change the world. And it was a wonderful reminder that Google used to be, can be, and in many ways still is, so much more than a company. Read More >>
One of the smaller — but nonetheless incredibly useful — new updates from Google is a series of actions buttons in Gmail, which will help you handle tasks without having to send more messages or leave your inbox. Read More >>
Part of the Google I/Oonslaught yesterday was an update to Google Play Books for both Android and iOS. In and of itself it's not exactly ground-breaking, but Google'll now let you read books uploaded to your Google Drive (through Google Books), which means cloud-syncing for your own, erm, acquired books. It might seem impossible to comprehend the web existing before Google but it did! And the company built on search has had a significant impact on how the web looks and works today. During today's I/O keynote, this little video was shown and it's so disgustingly cute for such a nerdy topic that I just had to share it in case you missed it. Read More >>
New research into the possibly shady world of Amazon UK and its accountant friends in Luxembourg has emerged, with the company paying just £3.2m in corporation tax in the UK last year -- a figure made all the more laughable by the fact it claimed £2.5m in government grants. It's the world's biggest benefit claimant. Read More >>

Although this year's Google I/O is all about developers and tools, Google unveiled a lot for the users too. No sign of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, just a 4.3 Jelly Bean update, but everything from search, chat, gaming, Maps, Music, and Google+ got a feature-filled refresh. We even got a bloat-free Samsung Galaxy S4 "Google Edition" to call our own. Here's everything Google fired out into the ether last night. Read More >>

Today at its I/O developer's conference, Google launched Google Play All Access in the US, its long-anticipated subscription music service. I just spent some time exploring the on-demand catalogue as well as its radio and music discovery features. The service's UI is impressively fast and fluid. Indeed, it's minimal in all the right ways. If only it wasn't so lonely in there. Read More >>

Google just dropped a metric ton of Google on us. Sorting through it all, it's clear that the company's not just trying to put new goodness into the world; it's trying to blow plenty of existing products and services out of the water. Here are all the things Google's looking to unseat and uppercut into the spike pit. Read More >>
