The newest, shiniest Androids you can buy will now run Facebook Home. Whether you actually want to is another question, but Zuckerberg and co are working hard on it. Soon it'll get an app dock and a new Dash Bar to make starting chats quicker, plus it might jump from home screen replacement to home screen layer, which'll be slightly less intrusive. Amazing, I'm sure. [TechCrunch] Read More >>
Blu-rays. Can you get enough of them? We can't. If we're not watching them we're using them as coasters, balancing wonky tables with them, or using them as targets and shooting them out of the air with rifles. Read More >>
It looks like HTC took a look at these awesome colourful renders from the other week, and decided it would be a great idea to spice up the One with a splash of red. It's not quite as bright as the concept renders, but at least this one is real -- well, if retailer Handtec can be believed, anyway. Read More >>
Liked the HTC One, but thought it was a bit big (or a bit pricey)? Well, rumour (from the normally-reputable @evleaks) has it that we'll soon be seeing a 4.3-inch, lower-specced version of the One, which'll serve up the One's good looks in a smaller, dual-core package. Read More >>
That vaguely familiar chap up there is the HTC One carrying an extra three or four stone in additional flab, thanks to the Mophie Juice Pack. In return for fattening up your phone you get nearly double the battery life, which is a trade off we suspect many will take. Read More >>
The HTC One is very probably the most beautiful looking smartphone on the planet right now and very possibly the very best phone that money can buy you. How did it get that way? The detail is in its design. HTC's design team talks about the impressive process of turning a slab of metal into so much more, in this video here. Read More >>

HTC's said to be pushing out an update for its monstrously popular HTC One smartphone in Europe today, focusing on updates to the phone's camera system. The upgrade features camera sound, noise reduction, dynamic range and EXIF data fixes, plus HTC says users who install it should see "improved system performance and stability" as a result. An anonymous Samsung employee said it's still a pile of rubbish, though. [Slashgear] Read More >>
Since it arrived last year, the Galaxy S III has been the world's best-selling smartphone that wasn't born in Cupertino. An impressive feat, but one that—along with Samsung's Megatron-sized hype-machine—has made for sky-high expectations for the sequel. Read More >>

Naughty-boy of tech Samsung is in hot water yet again -- this time, it's apparently been hiring students to post mud-slinging comments at the bottom of HTC One reviews, and the same Taiwanese authorities that raided their offices looking for industrial espionage are now investigating Sammy for false advertising. Uh-oh. Read More >>
When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S4 our hearts sank a little. Compared to the gorgeous, premium looking and feeling HTC One, the plastic-shelled S4 just looked cheap. Yes, there are merits for a polycarbonate construction, but a premium experience isn't one of them. It seems Samsung might have just woken up to that fact. Read More >>

HTC's finances have hit rock bottom, profit's down, revenue's down, and production hiccups mean it just can't get that fantastic new flagship out the door fast enough. HTC's going to need some seriously miraculous sales to dig it out of that mess, so maybe going radically coloured with the HTC One is the way forward? Read More >>
If there's one consumer area that technology has failed to advance it's the humble toilet seat. For decades now there's been a seat and (if you're lucky) a lid. But things just got a lot more interesting. Read More >>
We've said it once, and we're gonna say it again: battery life is the only stat that matters any more. Sadly, it's also one of the hardest to nail down in a decent, objective manner. None the less, we corralled together a Russian oligarch's wishlist of handsets, and put them to the test. Read More >>
