Carbon fibre is awesome. It's light, incredibly strong and you can make almost anything out of it, including planes like the fancy new 787 Dreamliner. What it's not great at, though, is taking lightning strikes, and apparently planes get hit by lightning all the time. Scarily, carbon fibre is literally shredded by the strike. Read More >>
