As soon as Apple announced the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro, the countdown started for the 13-inch version. Well, here it is. A slim, trim, portable little MacBook with a gorgeous retina screen and a gut-punch cost. And another reminder that sometimes wonderful things don't live up to their price tag. Read More >>
If Google's web crawlers are correct, there will be a new Retina display 13-inch MacBook Pro announced today. The Apple Store is currently down, so we can't follow the link, but a Google search for "13-inch macbook pro" returns results at the official Apple site referring to the new model. Read More >>

A couple of months ago, I had a life-altering experience: I bought a new iPad. I use the term "life-altering experience" because before that day, I was a staunch opponent of all things Apple. I was a devout Linux and Android devotee, and I only really used Windows because I had to, and because I would never, ever be caught dead using a MacBook. I only bought the iPad because I needed a retina device to use for testing. At least that was my intention. Read More >>

Truly! There is absolutely no age cut-off for learning a new technology. I mean, if a four-year-old can operate an iPad, there is absolutely no reason why that infant's grandmother or grandfather shouldn't be able to as well. After all, most if not all of our grandparents have used a typewriter at one point or another. And that's already a step above the kind of hands-on life experience a pre-schooler is working with. Toys playing with their own overly-engineered, brand-name, Apple gadgets is what could probably be called—quite accurately—the pinnacle of pretension. Still, anything made miniature is automatically cool. And these tiny iPods, iPads, iPhones, and MacBooks are no exception. Not even when Woody from Toy Story is posed with a doll-size iPhone to look like he's Instagramming his sushi dinner. Read More >>

With WWDC just around the bend—Apple's keynote is next Monday—it's time to face the usual torrent of leaks and dribbles and rumours and lies.
