Rumours suggest HTC is about to join Samsung, ZTE, Huawei and other mobile makers in launching what we must sadly refer to as a "phablet," with a device allegedly known under the development name T6 set to offer us a phone with six inches of screen size. Read More >>
Fun fact: In a sprint, the hippo is one of the fastest land mammals, despite also being one of the largest. Similarly, the LG Optimus G Pro is unquestionably one humungoid phone, but it runs about as fast as the top speedsters out there. Whether or not you should consider buying it, however, is up to the elasticity of your fingers. Read More >>

You've been blessed with bigger-than-normal hands, so you've gone and nabbed yourself a Samsung Galaxy Note II. But rather than sticking with the stock software, it's time to unleash the real potential of your handset, by rooting, ditching the stock software, and getting a couple of hours extra battery life all in one. If it were sold without its tablet dock, you might give the Padfone phone a second look all on its own. It's really pretty, after using it for a few minutes, it's just as powerful and smooth as any other flagship Android phone coming out, like the Optimus G Pro or the HTC One. Read More >>

Samsung's Galaxy Note just grew to 8 inches. It's actually really nice. It combines a bunch of the stuff that Samsung's been building in the Galaxy S and Note series and puts them into a nearly perfectly sized tablet. Two things, though. One, we don't know how much it costs, and price is a huge deal for 7- and 8-inch tablets. Two, the international version is a freaking 8-inch phone. Read More >>

Oh man, here we go. Phablets are no longer no longer constrained to limits of being under half a foot. Huawei's new Ascend Mate is an unprecedented 6.1-inches. It's been around before, but now it's official. Cower in fear beneath its all-encompassing shadow. Read More >>
Look. We knew that at CES this year, we'd be inundated with a metric tonne of giant phone/tablet monstrosities. We were ready. We braced ourselves, stretched our hands out, and I even practiced my best smiling-through-gritted-teeth face. But I can't handle it any more. Manufacturers are out of control, and it's got to stop, before IT'S TOO LATE! Read More >>

Like most in the Android world, I've been steadily increasing my comfort zone on how big a screen I want. Back in the day, I was obsessed with getting my phone as small as possible, like Zoolander. Then I got my first smartphone in the Windows Mobile 6 days, and ever since then every device I get has a bigger screen than the last, and I end up being happy about it. Read More >>

OK, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is much, much bigger than an iPhone 5, but could it really command a premium over the £530 asking price of Apple's sales-monster? Pre-orders have gone live for the Note 2 in the UK, and, unfortunately, it's not going to come cheap. Read More >>

The Galaxy Note 2 is incoming, and we'll see it at IFA next week, but first Samsung's treating us to a weird teaser video. Samsung seems to have things a tad confused too, because I certainly wouldn't call a 5.5-inch-plus phablet "small," and I'll bet it's not all that "light" either. Read More >>
