They hear it through the entire movie, but most theatre goers don't pay close attention to one of the most important supporting players in a film: the soundtrack. It's as important for building tension and excitement as the actors' performances, and the Soundworks Collection took a closer look at what went into the music behind Star Trek Into Darkness. One of the best blink-and-you-miss-it moments from the new Star Trek film is a pan across a whole bunch of models charting the history of flight and space travel, all sat on Admiral Marcus' desk. If you missed them in the carnage of gunfire, explosions and beat downs, here's what they look like up close. (Warning: Extremely mild spoilers). Read More >>

There are still a lot of mysteries surrounding the next film in J.J. Abrams's reborn Star Trek series — including who exactly Benedict Cumberbatch is playing — but now we've got one more piece of the puzzle. It was briefly teased in the last trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness, but via the film's mobile app, we now have a great shot of the Dark Enterprise. Read More >>

We've seen a small smidgen of this clip before in one of the Star Trek Into Darkness trailers, but it's a heck of a lot of a tighter squeeze than we realised. If only they'd fitted the thing with guns. Read More >>
Little did anyone realise that Star Trekwas actually a show about a grumpy old doctor, thrust into space against his will. Yeah, Kirk and Spock stole the spotlight, but it's really all about Bones. Oh, and Scotty. But not Uhura, obviously. Lucky that Karl Urban is awesome as the good doctor, then. Read More >>

JJ Abrams' re-envisaging of Star Trek is just about to head into its second instalment. The first one was pretty epic, but it was the redesigned new, old Enterprise that stole the show. Here's what it really looks like, in some amazing new photos direct from the set. Read More >>
This looks like a whole heap of trouble. Previous trailers for the new Star Trek have shown the crew of the Enterprise put through the wringer, but the scope of this latest one makes it look even more absurd than ever. If you were hoping to see Star Trek Into Darkness in an IMAX come May 9th, or any time soon thereafter, and you haven't already got a ticket in hand, I'm afraid you're probably going to be fat out of luck. Yesterday we were treated to an eye-popping new Star Trek Into Darkness trailer, but hidden within it was a link to a brand new poster. You had to be eagle-eyed to spot the thing, and have a super-sharp monitor to boot, but it was hidden in plain sight alright. That got me thinking. I really love it when developers, producers, and artists take the time to hide things for people to find in their works. But what's the best one you've ever found? Read More >>

We were able to make a pretty good guess as to the villain of Star Trek Into Darkness after the full-length trailer came out, and although this new teaser doesn't seem to reveal any big secrets of its own, it's damned awesome.
