This E-Shirt Feels Like an Entire Hospital's Got Your Back

Embeddable clothing isn't a new concept, but the idea's been around long enough that we should start seeing more and more real-world applications, outside of the lab, right? Right. Enter the eT-Shirt.

Brought to us by the minds at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, this tech-savvy tank top has a bevy of health monitoring tools embedded in its fabric. What's there? A removable thermometer, accelerometer and a GPS chip (which is technically housed in a pocket but will be sewn in with later versions).

The creators also integrated the shirt into the Locating & Biomonitoring by means of Wireless Networks in Hospitals (LOBIN) to help reduce hospital stay time and provide SMS alerts to doctors related to the wearer's health. [Ecoterre via Engadget]
