EA Turning Battlefield 3 Into Sports Celeb "Reality Show"

By Gary Cutlack on at

Mega publisher Electronic Arts is about to take video games into a very weird new place, thanks to new reality TV show production Battlefield 3: Operation Gridiron.

It's a military fly on the wall reality show, starring US football players, who will be thrust into "real-life combat scenarios inspired by the award-winning videogame".

The sporting celebs will be given combat training by gnarled veterans, before being made to act out a "live simulated operation" based on actual scenes from the popular war game franchise update.

It'll be produced by Game Trailers TV, eventually showing on US man network Spike TV, before being thrown on Facebook in "webisode" format for everyone around the world to watch.

So we will get our chance to take screencaptures and laugh at it. [Operation Gridiron via Ubergiz]
