End of an Era -- Analogue TV Switch Off Date Set Making Way For 4G

Upgraded to Freeview yet? If not you're going to be starring at a blank picture come the 24th of October 2012 -- the analogue switch off date has been set.

Digital UK, the organisation managing the switchover, has set the date with London and Northern Ireland being the last gasp of the analogue TV era. The switch-off is important for freeing up spectrum for things 4G in the UK and with the whole nation more-or-less enjoying digital Freeview coverage, is anyone really going to miss it?
