The BBC's already let loose a 3G streaming-capable iPhone version of its iPlayer app for iOS, but as of now Android-lovers have been left out in the cold. A 3G streaming update for the Android iPlayer app is on the way however; but if you're desperate to watch Have I Got News For You while on the road, and can't wait for the update, it might be worth checking out the mobile web version of the catch-up player.
The Beeb is currently updating the browser-based version to enable 3G streaming of both live and catch-up content, which should be enabled soon -- so at least you'll have that option. As noted with the iOS version, 3G streaming isn't likely to set any quality records just yet -- but if all you have is 3G and you're in need of a quick hit of Doctor Who, it'll do. [BBC via Recombu]
