If you own one of Sony Ericsson's 2011 Xperia-branded Android phones, you'll start to see a version of Google's Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 update appear for download from the end of next March.
Given that Sony Ericsson released a huge number of Android phones this year, the launch is unsurprisingly going to be staggered. Owners of the newer Arc S, Neo V and Xperia Ray will be the first to start seeing the update notification appear at the end of March, with owners of the slightly older original Arc, the Xperia PLAY the two Xperia Minis and the other Android models it released during 2011 beginning to receive the update a month later.
If you're impatient and technically minded, SE has already released a barely functional test version of the Android 4.0 software, which can be installed on the newer Xperias, as long as you don't mind your phone losing the ability to... make phone calls. [Sony Ericsson]
