Apple Hits Go Button On Paid "GameStore" App Prematurely

Apple's not been the rock-solid unflappable entity that we’ve been used to in recent years, and it seems to be getting worse. It prematurely published a paid “GameStore” app on the App Store and hurriedly moved to remove it, but not before some overly eager people bought it, of course.

Apparently Apple’s currently in the process of refunding people’s purchases, but it seems that the app was actually a developer-targeted app, which was thrown up for live testing; problem was, someone hit publish. Is Apple planning some sort of in-app game store? Seems a bit odd considering it already sells games in the App Store. Maybe it's a move to allow certain publishers to sell their games as a collection, or within their own app.

At any rate, whoever hit the go button must have been the same guy who let iMame and a raft of other awesome, yet App Store Terms of Service-breaking apps through. Let’s hope he or she doesn’t get the boot; who else will slip up to our App-craving advantage? [MacRumors via SlashGear]
