The French Give McDonalds an Arty Modern Redesign

By Gary Cutlack on at

These images come from a brand new, high-concept French McDonalds branch, which has been given a complete internal redesign in an attempt to make it more appealing to the modern consumerist family.

The new look has been put together by designer Patrick Norguet, and includes new digital ordering terminals to cut out the awkward human interaction element that often accompanies ordering junk food, curved plywood alcoves, a bar-style area for the drunk lone businessman and wider seated areas for families.

This bright new look is currently being tested in a McD branch in the French town of Villefranche-de-Lauragais, with a further six trials of the burger-selling holodeck planned. [Fastcodesign]
