Minecraft really is a fantastic thing when dedicated people put their heads together to create amazing worlds to explore. Now you can re-live a portion of your N64-playing childhood with Hyrulecraft – a faithful 1:1 scale world recreation of arguably the best Zelda game ever made, Ocarina of Time.
It’s amazing to see the 1998 classic transformed into something you can wonder around with Minecraftian abandon. There aren’t any stories, monsters or puzzles just yet though – but they’re on their way. The developers have promised to implement some challenges using Minecraft’s own questing system and characters, and I’m getting giddy just thinking about it.
If you haven’t played through the original Ocarina of Time on the N64, the Wii Virtual Console version, or the new 3DS remake in a while, you really, really must take a stroll through of this fantastic Minecraft version. But if like me you’re stuck at work, sneakily check out the alpha release trailer above and see if you can recognise the different sections. Ah the glorious childhood memories all come streaming back. [GenGame via Kotaku]
