The Inescapable Olympic Branding Kicks-Off With an Acer Tablet

By Sam Gibbs on at

It’s started; the Olympic branding of everything has commenced nice and early like Christmas decorations going up in July, and there won’t be any escape. Acer’s outed an “Olympic Games Edition” of its Tegra 3-packing Iconia Tab A510.

It’s just a re-badged Iconia A510 of course, but it’s now got some Olympic rings stamped on the back to show its sporting calibre. Its basic specs aren’t bad though, with the quad-core Tegra 3 backed up by 1GB of RAM; 32GB of storage, and a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display, which might seem mighty low-res very soon.

Acer’s pushing a 15-hour battery life for the Ice Cream Sandwich-packing tablet as the reason you should pick up an Iconia for the Olympics, but I’m guessing your average punter isn’t going to risk running around in massive crowds with an easy-to-pinch device as big as a tablet. Maybe that’s just the pessimistic Londonder in me getting out though. [Acer]
