Giant 1970s Fisheye Lens On a Nikon D800: Worth the £100k?

By Michael Hession on at

A few weeks ago we reported on the ridiculous £100,000 Nikon 6mm f/2.8 fisheye lens up for sale. But with no images utilising the lens, we were left wondering what they might look like. Now we know, and kinda wish we didn't.

Grays of Westminster, the period shop selling the lens, decided to indulge us all by mounting the behemoth to a spankin-new Nikon D800. The bits of footage, well, kinda looks like ass. There is no getting by the fact that a fisheye of this size and focal length is going to produce a large vignette and just look silly. Which it does! [YouTube via Nikon Rumors]
