Email hacker Christopher Chaney, who set up redirects on email addresses belonging to Scarlett Johansson, Christina Aguilera's employees and accounts of other celebrities, could face a maximum of six years jail time for his e-crimes.
Chaney's technique involved setting up automated forwarding details on the accounts once he gained initial access, which allowed him to continue to receive the celeb's private emails and those oh-so-tempting image attachments directly to his account even if they changed their login passwords.
US prosecutors want him to face six years in jail for this, and to pay around £95,000 in compensation to the celebs whose photos he distributed. [The Register]
