Style Is Dead: YSL Is Going to Sell a Facebook-Inspired Eyeshadow

By Leslie Horn on at

The face is a blank canvas—you can make yourself up to look like Cleopatra, or a clown, or a hooker, and now you can do up your eyes Facebook-style. YSL is launching an eyeshadow palette inspired by the social network. Seriously! Pretty soon a bespectacled Yves Saint Laurent is going to rise out of his grave and beat the development staff with his patent leather loafers.

The Pure Chromatics Devoted to Fans palette launches on July 19, and if the name doesn't put a dagger into your heart and you want to buy one, you have to like the brand's Facebook page first. It features four hues—blue, white, grey, and black, just like the Facebook logo. And the blue is really more of a turquoise, if we're being technical here. The power of makeup. Everything is awful.
