This Trotter-Shaped Bench Looks Good Enough to Eat

By Jamie Condliffe on at

There are few things more pleasant in life than having a nice comfortable sit down. Apart, perhaps, from pork. So why not combine the two?

That's exactly what Portuguese designer Fernando Brizio did by creating pé de porco—literally, pig foot—which is simultaneously a porcine trotter and comfortable bench. Made from cork oak sourced from the same forest that is home to black pigs feeding on acorns, it's a piggy delight.

It is in fact one of a number of benches commissioned to mark the 10th anniversary of the London Design Festival. They're on show at the Victoria & Albert museum in London, but you can see more of them over at Design Boom. Don't worry: they won't all make you feel hungry. [Design Boom]
