Apple Gets Defensive With "Why iPhone?" Mini Site

By Gary Cutlack on at

Apple seems to be launching some sort of PR counteroffensive in the wake of Samsung's Galaxy S4 announcement, revealing a new site that tries to answer the question "Why iPhone?" in a world that's still showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to lusting after rival Android hardware.

While some of the claims offered through the portal are a bit vague and not overly believable -- boasting about "Great battery life" is a bit rich given Apple's recent iOS power bug woes, for example -- it does at least try to reassure people that iPhone is the best option available today, thanks to combining its A6 processor with a camera that is supposedly "the world's most popular" thanks to... being in the iPhone.

Apple also claims that iPhone is the only way you can get a "Retina" display, which is kind of true as the Retina concept is a meaningless Apple-created buzzword used to describe its high-res displays, with the maker deciding not to mention the fact that plenty of other phones offer higher resolution screens nowadays.

It also mentions that you get to talk to emotionally aloof people in blue t-shirts when it breaks. Grabbing at straws a bit, there. [Apple via PC World]
