Facebook Home, Mark Zuckerberg's latest attempt to gobble even more of our lives, hit the US last week. And while it's teasing us on Google Play, it's region locked. So, here's how to download and install it in the UK, and on pretty much any Android device too.
MoDaCo's Paul O'Brien has worked up a set of pretty easy to follow instructions to get the thing up and running. If you have a supported device, but aren't in the US, all you really need to do is have both the standard Facebook app and Facebook Messenger installed, then download the Facebook Home apk from somewhere. Then just activate Home from the settings menu in the old-school Facebook app. Simples.
For those not running one of Mark Zuckerberg's blessed phones, you too can still enjoy the privacy invasion slick UI experience. O'Brien's patched up the Facebook apps to let Home run on pretty much anything, so those of you sick of Google on your Nexus 4 can renovate your home screen.
Now, whether you'd actually want to do that, I'm not sure. But at least you can remove it if it's, you know, a bit shit, no harm done. [MoDaCo]
