LG's New Robo Vacs Come When They're Called

By Andrew Liszewski on at

One of the biggest joys of owning a dog is that if you spill food on the floor, you can call them over and have it taken care of in no time. And that has to be what inspired the latest version of LG's RoboKing voice-activated vacuum cleaners.

Besides getting a promised 10 per cent boost in cleaning power, the latest RoboKings boast top and bottom cameras that work alongside three ultrasonic sensors to precisely navigate the obstacles in your home, even in the dark. But it's the voice-activated functionality that makes these vacs most exciting. Simple commands allow you to start and stop the cleaning routine as long as it can hear you, and pausing its cleaning routine can be done with a simple clap of your hands. They're even able to recognise where your voice is coming from and essentially come when called.

At around £500 the new RoboKings are technically more expensive than a new puppy, but only as an initial investment. Instead of food, injections, vet trips, grooming, and endless toys, all it needs is the occasional charging to keep it happy. [LG Korea via Fareastgizmos]
