Gamers Come Together to Rage Against Next-Gen Console DRM

By Gary Cutlack on at

Influential gaming forum NeoGAF is attempting to channel the fury and confusion over Sony and Microsoft's home console cloudy DRM plans, formulating a coordinated plan to register as much anger over next-gen restrictions that may limit trade of used games.

Rather wisely, the organisers suggest using a hashtag (#PS4NoDRM and #XboxOneNoDRM) to keep track of messages of protest, and are encouraging angry gamers to avoid contacting game company employees directly, lest it look like the actions of a crazed mob.

There are two domains to help pull it all together, one for Xbox One and one for PS4, along with two associated Tumblrs to keep snippets of news about the DRM plans of the console makers. Even if it doesn't work, it's a very impressive effort. [NeoGAF]
