Illegal Live Sports Streamer Added to UK ISP Ban List

The underground and slightly shady world of live subscription sport rebroadcasters has been dealt a blow from the high court, which has ordered the major UK ISPs to start blocking live streaming site Frontrow Sports.

The ruling comes after a complaint was lodged by the Premier League, which took offence at the way over one million UK users visit Frontrow every month, presumably to watch a bit of live football without having to pay Sky for the privilege. The League also claims some pubs are using it as a way to show games without the relevant approval from Sky. ISPs BT, Virgin Media, Sky, TalkTalk, Be and O2 are included in this order, so ought to be locking it out shortly.

Frontrow Sports is currently still available via BT at least today, so we'll be watching the cricket on it for the rest of the day on it. As a sort of tribute. [Bailii via TorrentFreak]
