A report is claiming that Tesco is about to "pull an Amazon," with a Tesco-branded tablet set to arrive later this year, packed with the supermarket giant's own suite of media apps, shopping tools and more.
According to the Sunday Times, the Tesco tablet is set to be a decent quality budget model, with a price tag similar to that of Amazon's cheapest Kindle Fire, which is currently being sold for around the £130 mark. Nothing is said as to the tablet's OS, but we think it's safe to say it's going to be based around Android rather than a proprietary Tesco system.
Tesco will of course make money out of buyers in other ways once it's in their hands, with its Blinkbox media streaming tool pre-loaded, along with its other shopping apps, banking tools and more. [Times]
