Vodafone 4G Hitting Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield on September 28th

By Gary Cutlack on at

Once again we are reminded of the KLF/Jams classic, only this time it's a Vodafone spokesman reading out a list of cities in the rain with a megaphone. The man is telling us that the five cities mentioned above will be connected to the Vodafone 4G network in time for a switch-on on September 28th.

As well as this, Vodafone's said it's adding an extra 4GB of data to the contracts of all existing subscribers on one of its 4G-ready contracts, with those who sign up between now and the end of October also qualifying for the additional data.

Meanwhile, rival network and 4G jump-starter EE claims today that it's hit the one million subscriber mark, just 10 months after the launch of its 4G-only network. That's apparently four months ahead of its target, and ranks the UK "among the fastest in the world" when it comes to adoption rates of the new tech. [Vodafone]
