You can hardly call yourself a mobile phone manufacturer these days if you don't have at least one hilariously sized handset in your arsenal, and in the phablet stakes Motorola is definitely playing catch up. Keeping up with the Joneses, Moto is now said to have a giant 6.3-inch Xplay handset in the works.
That's a huge display, putting it right up against the Sony Xperia Z Ultra. It's sounding like no slouch under the hood either, with a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor backed by 2 GB of RAM tucked away inside, and Android 4.2.2 in use.
Despite Motorola's primarily US focus at the moment, the company's close relationship with Google makes all rumours of this kind worth taking note of. Living under Google's shadow, any Motorola phablet these days could be seen as a dry run for a Google-branded big phone. [Phandroid via Pocket-Lint]
