Warns PS4 Owners to Stick to Games and Avoid the Weirdo Webcam Sexcasts

Gamers with a PlayStation4 and the camera adaptor have been using augmented reality title Playroom to turn their consoles into impromptu webcam broadcasting machines, with the gamer TV network now said to be banning people for streaming non-gaming material.

The idea behind Twitch integration with PS4 is to allow gamers to share live footage of themselves playing games with their friends and the online community at large. That's fine when playing the likes of Battlefield 4, but when the game involves the PS4 camera and footage of people, it gets a bit more legally... murky. Especially when it's sleeping ladies who haven't consented to it.

A thread on Reddit suggests gamers are now being banned from using the Twitch service for broadcasting footage of themselves and their families through Playroom regardless of good or ill intent, with Twitch itself taking to Twitter to warn that: "If using PS4 Playroom, the content must be about games or gaming and within our ToS."
