With the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One, gaming is in the UK headlines for all the right reasons for a change. But some "old media" stalwarts still can't get their heads around what makes gamers tick. Try as he might, Charlie Brooker can't convince newsreader old-guard Jon Snow that gaming has any merits.
With Snow playing devil's advocate to Brooker's pro-gaming argument on a slot during last night's Channel 4 news show, the pair shared an equal parts awkward and hilarious exchange on the appeal of videogames in the light of the release of the new consoles. "You're like a dog at the controls of a helicopter," exclaims a frustrated Brooker as Snow seems to almost stubbornly refuse to grasp how a modern games console controller works.
You can watch the whole 14-minute clip embedded above, but Snow's summation of the PS4's LEGO: Marvel Superheroes is worth highlighting. Jon Snow on the in-game Iron Man character: "I'm trying to work out what this guy is doing. It looks to me as if he's having electronic urination against that pillar." Priceless.
