First Xbox One System Update Fixes Minor Issues, Leaving Bigger Ball-Aches For Next Year

By Gerald Lynch on at

The first round of system updates for the Xbox One have landed, fixing small problems associated with SmartGlass, multiplayer matches, notifications, network compatibility, dashboard performance and (where accessible) the TV guide features.

It's a swift start to rolling out fixes, with the Xbox One barely a fortnight old. But many of the big issues remain for the time being -- there's no mention of the 50Hz screen judder plaguing UK owners, nor things like the Kinect visual and voice recognition issues that have marred my personal experiences with the machine so far. It's early days yet of course, but here's hoping the next round of fixes, due next year, are a little more comprehensive. [Major Nelson]
