Hidden Fees Still Ripping Off Online Ticket Buyers

By Gary Cutlack on at

Ludicrous delivery costs for slips of paper and arbitrary fees added at the end of the booking process are ripping off ticket buyers, with a Which? survey finding that some online companies are ratcheting up the cost of buying a ticket by as much as one third.

The shameful use of random extra fees is being used most aggressively by See Tickets, which whacked an insane £9.50 in additional fees to the cost of a £25 ticket to see comedian Jimmy Carr arch his eyebrows for 90 minutes, giving it an instant 38 per cent profit on the deal. Rival site Ticketline charged £4.70 in extra fees.

If you'd like to add your voice to the complaints about this shady practise, Which? is running petition Play Fair on Ticket Fees over on its site. [Which? via Guardian]
