Just in case you thought celebrity-endorsed headphones were a thing of the past, Monster used CES as the opportunity to announce its latest offerings to the headphones market, including a fresh new partnership with Adidas Originals.
The flagship announcement is that of the 24K Headphones, a collaboration with rapper Meek Mills. The headphones golden design is to, "exemplify the user's taste in great sounding music -- leaving no experience unrealised." The headphones themselves have apparently been hand-tuned with precision and feature a 24K tuned version of Monster's audio tech Pure Monster Sound. What does this mean? It means "crystal clear audio perfection" with Monster promising that it will offer unmatched clarity and depth to your music.
They probably don't include any actual gold considering their price of $320 (about £195). In any case, if you appreciate the over-the-top lifestyle of a rapper and want to flash it off to the world, these are the headphones for you.
The second big announcement was a brand new partnership between Monster and Adidas, which will cumulate in a collection of headphones modelled on Adidas's Originals clothing line. Details are sketchy, but both companies promise to focus on creativity, innovation, and style. Adidas Originals will be available sometime in February, launching in Germany.
Monster also had a few other announcements including the Superstar, which Monster claim is the world's smallest high quality Bluetooth speaker; DNA Pro wireless headphones, premium Bluetooth-enabled wireless headphones that will cost $450 (£275); a "business black" model of the acclaimed iSport Freedom wireless sport headphones range, and Go-DJ, a pocket-sized turntable and mixer.
