In the last year, Samsung has released three different smartwatches, in an apparent attempt to iterate and get out ahead of the pack with a viable product that's actually useful. Today, Samsung's showing off a concept for another, the Simband, a wristable designed for interchangeable body sensor modules. This is future stuff, but Samsung thinks this is future of how we understand our bodies.
The Simband is a conceptual/reference device that's part of a new fitness and health data platform. The overall platform is supposed to encompass not only hardware but a standardized approach to numbers, that'll allow manufacturers to develop to a standardized way of collecting and processing data.
