The Android budget superstar that single-handedly made Motorola a mobile force once again is about to receive an update, with sources claiming an announcement of the Moto G 2 is imminent. And it'll be a bit beefier all round.
According to leaker HelloMoto HK, the next-gen G-Unit will feature a 5-inch display outputting at 720p resolution, with the first phone's weakest point rectified by the inclusion of an 8megapixel camera. And as with the recent refresh of the original Moto G, the G2 will feature a microSD card slot. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor is said to be the brain, operating alongside 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space.
But LG's already done a phone called the G2 and calling it the G+ would be commercial suicide, so perhaps it might need a different name altogether. The source claims the updated Moto G could arrive as soon as early September. [HelloMoto HK via BGR]
