Three Minutes of Spinning Tops That are Impossible to Stop Watching

By Andrew Liszewski on at

This short film takes its inspiration from the 1969 film Tops directed by famed designers Ray and Charles Eames, and is literally nothing more than footage of spinning tops of all shapes, sizes, and colours. But don't be fooled, it's more captivating as anything Hollywood has produced in the past decade.

The featured tops are all from the private collection Professor Kenneth Brecher, and the short film was made to accompany a paper and lecture presented at a mathematics conference being held in Seoul, Korea—which leads us to wonder if we really should be attending more maths conferences.
