Xbox One SmartGlass TV Streaming Rolls Out to Preview Program Members

Microsoft's wasting no time in getting its next wave of Xbox One system updates, announced earlier this week, on to gamers' consoles. Just days after they were revealed, gamers on the Xbox One Preview Program from today will be able to use the SmartGlass app to stream the console's pass-through TV feature, as well as boot the console directly into the TV mode.

The update also brings the long-awaited Media Player app, which initially offers video and music playback from a connected USB device and will eventually expand to include DLNA networked playback too. Over additional features rolling out will give Party leaders greater control over the group of gamers they've banded together, and more flexibility when it comes to organising and deleting GameDVR videos.

If you're not on the Preview Program, there's no need to be too upset. Going by previous Xbox One system updates, these features should roll out to all users in just a matter of weeks. Check out the Media Player app in action in the clip below.
