U2 and Apple Working on New Album Format for iTunes

Good god, there might be more U2 on the way. The band's manager has said it's looking at ways to jazz up and modernise the ancient 11-or-so-songs-in-a-row album format, and is working with Apple to create new music delivery styles.

U2's manager Guy Oseary told Billboard magazine that: "The band really wants people to engage with albums, they want them to support the art form of artwork and lyrics and video content and just get into their music in a much different way than an MP3 file. This is a long relationship."

Which sounds like some animated GIFs of Bono may come in the file along with the iTunes downloads of the future. [Billboard via Cult of Mac]
