"SWEAR TO ME (that you didn't nick ideas for Android from our early beer chats about iOS)!"
A brief (imagined) excerpt there, from the next Steve Jobs biopic script. Yep, you guessed it, Christian Bale has indeed taken the lead role in Danny Boyle's upcoming film about the late Apple boss.
Revealed during an interview with Bloomberg, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin named Bale the "best actor on the board in a certain age range" fit to take on the role. And he didn't even need to audition, apparently.
"He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined," Sorkin told Bloomberg. "There isn’t a scene or a frame that he’s not in. So it’s an extremely difficult part and he is gonna crush it."
The film, to be based on Walter Isaacson's 2011 biography, has had many names attached to it prior to today's announcement, including Ben "Batfleck" Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt "Matt Damon" Damon. [Bloomberg]
