HMRC May Have Messed up "Thousands" of its Corrected Tax Demands

The UK's tax office may have made mistakes on top of mistakes, with accountants claiming HMRC got its recalculations wrong when correcting previous mistakes -- so some some people may receive a third, different, tax bill.

Earlier this year the tax affairs of over five million people were reworked, after mistakes were discovered in how their payments had been calculated. But, in a not particularly hilarious sequence of events for those involved, it seems the recalculations were also wrong in some cases, with HMRC saying: "We currently do not know the scale of the issue but some large employers are involved, so several thousands of employees may be affected."
