"Hey, we heard you liked teaser trailers, so we made a teaser trailer for a teaser trailer to follow the first teaser trailer we teased you with."
Just stop already! There was a time when a film's teaser trailer was just that -- a little glimpse of pre-pre hype before the first (and, once, only) lengthier trailer for a flick aired. Now, when it comes to blockbusters at least, you can stitch together practically a whole film just from the dozens of pre-release trailers that come out. And apparently, we need another clip to get hyped up about yet another trailer.
Case in point -- the above 15-second teaser for Marvel's next Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, letting us know that US sports channel ESPN will have another longer look at the superhero flick on January 12th. Ridiculous.
And it's not as if the first trailer wasn't revealing enough -- at two minutes 17 seconds long, it had moneyshot after moneyshot squeezed into it. Armed with enough comic book knowledge, you could probably figure out all that's going to happen in the full-length film.
