Own an Island for the Price of a London Two-Bed Flat

By Gary Cutlack on at

This pretty little tumbledown croft house could be yours for around £350k, along with the entire Scottish island it sits on.

According to the island's sales listing, the Holm of Huip is around 250,000 square meters in size, and has the ruins of a few houses the owner could convert, were the owner able to find a willing builder and the same amount of money again to pay for it all. The island is accessed via a boat from the nearby Orkney island of Stronsay, an inhabited neighbour with around 350 people living there.

If you'd rather have an island with a house on that you can live in straight away, you'll need to find closer to £2.5m. [Vladi via Independent]
