RAF Typhoon Nearly Flattened a Cessna Over Norfolk

A Typhoon fighter came within 200ft of a private Cessna aircraft last July, ducking under the plane at the last minute to avoid a crash in the sky over Fakenham.

The report [PDF] blames the Marham base's air traffic control systems, saying the secondary surveillance radar used by the RAF base didn't detect the smaller plane -- despite the fact that the amateur pilot had told the base of his flight plan. [BBC]
