Jaguar's got a new car. The updated 2015 XF comes with an aluminium shell, one that's so light it can do special things like drive over docks in extremely well orchestrated promotional activities.
Jaguar paid television sports person Gabby Logan to present the experience and make it look like it was a proper thing from the TV rather than one enormous great car advert, all of which is now on YouTube and therefore here:
Hollywood stuntman Jim Dowdall did the low-speed driving work. The car itself is now 190kg lighter than the ageing model it replaces thanks to using aluminium instead of the wood and concrete of old, with the most efficient of the engines on offer said to get around 70mpg if you're careful and not in any particular hurry.
And of course it's got things to play with when you're waiting in the supermarket car park for her to buy her bloody yogurt. A 10.2-inch touchscreen runs the entertainment options, plus there's an optional 17 speaker Meridian audio system for people who want to get the very best out of their low bit rate 90s R&B MP3 collection.
Jaguar hasn't said how much it'll cost, although it should come in at around the same as the existing model, which starts at £30k for a basic one without the fancy stuff. If you have lots of money and want people to know it, there will be your usual "S" variant offering a 375bhp supercharged V6 engine. [YouTube]
