Whoops! LG G4 Specs Leak in Full One Day Ahead of Release

By Gerald Lynch on at

So close, yet so far! Less than a day before the LG G4's grand unveiling and some snitch in the supply chain has spilt the beans on exactly what to expect from LG's 2015 flagship.

According to Twitter leak-meister Evan Blass, the LG G4 sneaks up just a tad larger than the G3 at 5.9 x 3 x 0.4 inches, with a 5.5-inch screen that matches the G3's 2560 x 1440 resolution. Compare that to the 5.8 x 2.9 x 0.35-inch G3. That lines up nicely with earlier information provided direct from LG pertaining to the screen, which it revealed would feature the same Quantum dot tech found in its 4K TV sets.

Running Android Lollipop 5.1, the rear camera will be a 16MP snapper with f/1.8 lens. That's par-for-the-course, pretty much, but an 8MP front-facing camera is not to be sniffed at if you like lining up snaps of your own mug.

Unlike HTC or Samsung's flagships, the G4 is touted to come equipped with a removeable battery, at a sizeable 3,000mAh capacity. Both quick and wireless charging standards are supported. A Snapdragon 808 processor is said to be under the hood, backed by 3GB of RAM, while 32GB of storage can be complimented with microSD cards.

The LG G4's UK price hasn't slipped through the net yet though, and with both a standard and premium leather-backed version of the handset set to launch, we'll likely have two editions to weigh against our wallets tomorrow. We'll be heading to an LG preview event tomorrow afternoon, so check back soon for the final confirmed details.

If you want to keep an eye on the event yourself, we've put together a quick guide on how to live stream it all. Click here to check it out. [Mashable]
