Siri Directs 9/11 Questions to the Police

By James O Malley on at

Conspiracy theorists beware: they're listening to you. It turns out if you ask Siri about the events of 9/11, it'll call the police on you.

According to CBC News, the Regina police service in Canada has reported lots of accidental calls , which have been tying up resources as they have to call back and investigate as a matter of policy.

It turns out though that it wasn't the Illuminati monitoring our thoughts on major subjects of conspiracy theories, but was a simple mix-up: Siri took people asking about "nine-eleven" as an instruction to dial 911, the US emergency number.

Apparently the police are now asking people "to be good citizens and not ask Siri about 9/11". But then they would say that, wouldn't they? What are they hiding? [CBC via The Register]
