Cyanogen Finds a New Friend in UK Smartphone Startup Wileyfox

There's a new mobile phone seller in town, offering UK upgraders two models running the popular/hardcore/tinkerer Cyanogen OS system and some very respectable hardware for less than £200.

Wileyfox has announced two new models today, the £129 Swift and the £199 Storm. The most expensive one is the also the most interesting, seeing as it's coming in at less than the price of the much hyped OnePlus 2 -- yet offers some fairly comparable specs.

The £199 Storm comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and is powered by Qualcomm's second tier eight-core 615 chipset alongside a useful 3GB of RAM, plus it has two impressive Sony camera sensors onboard -- a 20MP main unit and an 8MP one for taking photos of yourself from the angle that make you look the thinnest and most mentally alert.

So the 615 is a little less powerful than the processor OnePlus is sticking in the OnePlus 2, but still. For £200 it's quite an option. The cheaper Swift is powered by a Snapdragon 410, but with 2GB of RAM inside ought to make quite a decent budget choice at its £129 price too.

The key downside is that both phones aren't available right now immediately now today RIGHT NOW. There's only a disappointing Register Your Interest page up where there should be a shopping basket so we can impulse order one right now while the new-thing interest fire still burns. [Wileyfox]
