Mr Robot, the story of anarchist hackers trying to take down evil corporations is one of the of the hottest shows in America right now - and now Amazon has bagged the rights to stream the show here in the UK.

Rami Malek (The Master, The Pacific, Oldboy) and Christian Slater (Heathers, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Interview with the Vampire), the show has been met with big critical success - with Amazon noting in its press release that it picked up the Audience Award at the prestigious SXSW festival. Rotten Tomatoes gives the show an average rating of 98%.

All ten episodes will be available to stream on Amazon's Prime Instant Video platform from October 16th.

The acquisition follows Amazon's beefing up of its Prime Instant Video portfolio in a bid to compete with Netflix. The company recently signed Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond for three series of their post-Top Gear show. Not much is known about that show at the moment, but it is looking like it will be named with the double-entendre "Gear Knobs".
